Stephen Graham misplaced a few valuables during a recent flight out of Los Angeles — including his newly awarded Golden Globe.

The *Adolescence* star, who just picked up a Globe for Best Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television, has revealed that thanks to an airport mixup, he lost the trophy mere hours after accepting it onstage.

"I had to go straight from L.A. the day after [the Golden Globes] to Madrid because I had to be on set the next day," Graham explained during a Jan. 19 visit to Capital Breakfast. "It was weird— I had like three minutes to catch the plane. It's a next-level kind of thing. As I come off the plane, a woman stood there with my name and she took me down the stairs, threw me in a car and drove me across the airport [on the runway]."

At this point, Graham was in Atlanta for a brief layover, being driven from one plane to another. He noted that while the VIP treatment was exciting, he was pretty concerned about the status of his luggage.

"All I'm thinking is, 'My case isn't gonna make it,'" he recalled. "I went, 'Excuse me, love? There's no way you're getting my suitcase on this plane if I'm in a car now.' And she's like, 'Oh no, don't worry, we'll take care of it.'"

But it turns out that Graham was right to be concerned: "It didn't land," he said of the suitcase. "The case didn't make the plane and it was left in Atlanta."

When radio host Chris Stark asked what exactly was in the case, Graham replied, "My socks, my pants, my toothbrush," he began. "...And a Golden Globe."

When co-host Jordan North joked that Graham "left" the trophy behind, the actor grew defensive. "No, I never left it," he argued. "I put it in my case! That's heavy, I wasn't carrying that on me."

In Graham's defense, the Golden Globe (which got a makeover in 2018) weighs in at 7.8 Ibs, and isn't exactly the most casual carry-on object. And anyway, it all worked out in the end — the actor was reunited with his trophy, his toothbrush, and all his clothes just two days later, when his luggage finally arrived.

Graham co-created, wrote, and starred in the Netflix hit *Adolescence*, which has become an awards darling since premiering to critical acclaim. The series has secured wins at the Emmys and Critics Choice Awards, in addition to its recent success at the 2026 Golden Globes.

Elsewhere in his chat with Capital, Graham shared that he spent some time with hi*s Gangs of New York* costar Leonardo DiCaprio during his time in L.A. He revealed that he ended up staying with the *One Battle After Another* star, who Graham described as a "proper pal."

Following his win at the Golden Globes, Graham paused to hug DiCaprio on his way to the stage. Once up there, he gave a shoutout to the cast and crew behind the acclaimed miniseries, including his wife Hannah Walters, who served as an executive producer. The actor named her "one of the best producers ever and a woman I'm very, very lucky to be married to."

Graham can now be seen in *A Thousand Blows*, alongside fellow *Adolescence* star and Golden Globe winner Erin Doherty. The 1880s set drama centers around the brutal world of illegal bare-knuckle boxing as local gangs, immigrants, and boxers battle for survival in the seedy underbelly of Victorian London. The series also stars BAFTA winner Malachi Kirby.
