*Alf* actress Anne Schedeen, who played central family matriarch on the beloved sitcom from 1986-1990, has died at age 77, her family announced.

Schedeen's family revealed news of her death Sunday in lengthy statement on Facebook.

"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share Annie has passed peacefully," the statement read. "She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of creative energy, whip smart humor, delight in her family, adoration for little dogs, burning hatred for Trump, passion for second-hand thrifting, and love for a good story. We are bereft without her. We loved her so so much, as did all who met her."

The family went on to call Schedeen "a force," and added that it's "unimaginable to think about life without her in it."

"But as she said, 'I’m always with you.' And she’s right. The memories, artwork, belly laughter, handmade jewelry, oil paintings, sculptures, costumes, and all around joie de vivre live on," they continued. "Raise a margarita in her honor."

The post also included a photo of Schedeen with the titular character from *Alf*, the NBC sitcom on which she appeared in 103 episodes as Kate Tanner, the matriarch of a family who allows the alien creature to live in their home after he crash-lands from space into their garage.
