Kendra, the wife of Duggar King's cousin Joseph Duggar, was arrested on Friday after she and her husband were both charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, second degree, as well as four counts of false imprisonment, second degree. She was seen leaving Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville, Ark., hours after her arrest.

Joseph Duggar was previously arrested on Wednesday on child molestation charges. The former TLC star was charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older.

The Bay County Sheriff's Office in Florida announced that a 14-year-old girl recently accused Joseph of molesting her when she was 9 years old during a family vacation in Florida in 2020. The office alleged that the former *19 Kids and Counting* star "manipulated the victim's underwear," "grazed her genitals," and rubbed her thighs while sitting with her on a couch.

Authorities claimed that Joseph later apologized for his behavior and that the girl's father confronted him about the alleged molestation on Tuesday. The sheriff's office also said Joseph admitted guilt to both the girl's father and detectives.

Local outlets KNWA/KFTA reported that Kendra's charges on Friday were unrelated to Joseph's Florida child molestation case.

Duggar King previously condemned Joseph's alleged actions in a statement to PEOPLE. "In light of the recent allegations involving my cousin, Joseph Duggar, I am sickened, heartbroken, and deeply angry," she told the outlet. "My first thoughts are with the victim, a child who deserved to be safe, protected, and surrounded by people she could trust."

Duggar King continued, "The courage it took for her to come forward, especially after years of carrying something so heavy, cannot be overstated. That bravery deserves to be honored above all else."

The author added that she was "utterly shocked" to hear about the allegations and Joseph’s arrest, but also noted that she is "not surprised that another alleged predator has emerged from this toxic system."

She continued, "For years, I have spoken out about the importance of truth, accountability, and protecting children, even when it meant going against my own family. Family ties should never equal automatic trust or access, especially when it comes to the safety of children. When an image is protected over truth, and silence is chosen over accountability, it creates an environment where abuse can thrive."

Duggar King defended her statement in another Instagram Stories video she posted before learning of Kendra's arrest on Friday.

"I've been seeing some comments on the statement video that I did. Let me just say this: I will not put up with hateful, horrible comments for no reason at all," she said. "No one has time to be mean and hateful to people that are trying to tell you the truth and trying to just offer sympathy to the victims."

She added, "And if that's all you're gonna do on my page, then there's no place for you on there, and I will block you happily. It just drives me crazy. The last thing I need is negativity. The last thing anyone needs right now is negativity. And I love my community because we're sweet, and we're kind, and we're supportive. If you're not gonna be that, then get out."
