Earlier this week, Apple moved forward with some significant price increases for a few of its products. Unfortunately, it sounds like those price hikes could just be the beginning.
Following the price increases, Apple issued a telling statement that suggests more price hikes could be coming for more Apple products in the near future.
Apple Raises Prices
This week, Apple officially rolled out some price increases centered around its MacBook computers and iPads.
MacBook Neo has increased from $599 to $699, the MacBook Air has increased from $1099 to $1,299, the MacBook Pro has increased from $1,699 to $1,999, and the Mac Studio has increased from $1,999 to $2,499.
Meanwhile, the iPad Air has increased from $599 to $749 while the iPad Pro has increased from $999 to $1,199.
Apple CEO Tim Cook previously indicated that these price hikes came as a result of a memory and storage chip shortage, calling the increases "unavoidable."

“Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable,” Cook said. “We’re doing our best to mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.”
More Price Increases Coming?
While the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods were all spared in this week's price increases, it sounds like price hikes on those products could be coming after a rather telling statement from Apple.
Following the price increases, Apple issued a statement to numerous outlets in which it indicated that these price hikes could be just the beginning.
"We have now reached a point where we need to begin raising prices on a number of products, including today’s increases for iPad and Mac," the statement read, via Bloomberg.
The phrasing of "begin raising prices" suggests that more price increases will be on the way, and "today's increases" suggest that more increases could be coming in future days.
We'll have to see what's next, but the statement from Apple did not exactly calm any concerns about future price hikes.
