Chad Lowe’s dad Chuck shared a tribute following the death of his 13-year-old granddaughter.
The Lowe family confirmed the death of Fiona on Sept. 29.
Chad and wife Kim Painter are also parents to Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
Chad Lowe’s dad is remembering his late granddaughter.
“Rest in peace sweet Fiona,” Chuck Lowe captioned an Instagram post on Wednesday, sharing a solo photo of the teenager in a pool. The comment section was full of followers sharing messages of condolences to Chuck and his family.
Chad and his wife Kim Painter confirmed Fiona’s death on Tuesday in a statement to Entertainment Weekly’s sister site PEOPLE.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family shared in a statement. The 13-year-old was “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance,” they said.

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives,” the family added, referencing the couple’s other daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. “Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”
While the family did not confirm Fiona’s cause of death, they did share the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in their statement. EWreached out to the Lowe family for comment earlier this week.
Page Six reported on Wednesday that the administration at Fiona’s school sent an email to parents informing them that a student had died. However, she was not named in the message. The school noted that it was offering counselors to speak with both teachers and students who might need support, according to the outlet.

Chad and Painter’s eldest daughter shared a copy of the statement via her own Instagram Story on Wednesday. The post was set to an acoustic version of “Landslide” by Fleetwood Mac.
Chad has offered an inside look into his life as a girl dad via social media. Fiona last appeared on his Instagram feed in November 2025, when the Pretty Little Liars alum shared a tribute on her 13th birthday.
“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he wrote at the time. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

Chad also praised all three of his daughters in a February 2025 Instagram caption after the family lost their house in the Palisades Fire.
“The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable. I am in awe of their spirit and resilience,” the actor wrote at the time. “Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege.”
