Colt Ford broke his shoulder in a tour bus crash en route to a concert in Germany
The country-rap star previously survived a near-fatal heart attack in 2024 and has since transformed his health
Ford’s peers, including Meghan Patrick and Jake Owen, shared supportive messages after the accident
Country-rap star Colt Ford is on the mend once again after he and his crew were involved in a tour bus crash en route to a concert in Germany.
The “Dirt Road Anthem” co-writer, 56, broke his shoulder and had to be rescued through a broken windshield after the accident, he wrote on social media on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
“One minute you’re headed to Germany for a show and prepping for single release the next thing you know your bus is in the ditch and you’re getting pulled through a windshield with a broken shoulder by first responders,” he wrote. “The crew is a little banged up but we’re all still here.”
Ford was scheduled to play in Ballenstedt, Germany on Saturday, Aug. 15, and is set to release the new song “Fake Redneck” on Friday, Aug. 14. It remains unclear where the crash took place and whether he will still perform.
The star also shared a photo of the crash, which featured a first responder standing inside the bus. The windshield is entirely gone, and the front is smashed.
Country music peers quickly flooded Ford’s Instagram post with supportive comments, and many nodded to the fact that he also survived a near-fatal heart attack in 2024.
“While I am so relieved you’re alive, I am so sorry for all of this brother,” wrote singer Meghan Patrick. “You’ve had more than your share of hard times and Mitchell [Tenpenny] and I are praying for you. Here to help any way we can, love you buddy 💛”

Added Jake Owen: “Glad yall are okay dude. You have endured some life. Love ya.”
Ford previously cheated death in April 2024, when he suffered a heart attack that put him on life support and left him in a coma for eight days. The star flatlined twice and underwent a 10-hour surgery before he was put on an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine for a week.

“It was life-changing,” he told PEOPLE in February 2025. “My doctor said, ‘I have no idea how you survived.’”
The major health scare was a turning point for Ford, who as of last year had lost more than 60 lbs. by transforming his diet.
“I’ve changed everything. If I go by Whataburger, I’ll eat a grilled chicken sandwich,” he told PEOPLE in February 2025. “I don’t do all the fries and stuff. McDonald’s used to be my s--- and I loved it but I haven’t even craved it.”

He added that he’s been encouraged by his wife Megan, who bought him a treadmill that he uses regularly. They celebrated their second wedding anniversary in July.
“I look good and I feel good. I’m feeling like it’s my Rocky comeback moment,” he said. “God has more for me to do. For some reason he saw fit to give me another chance, so I intend to do something positive with it.”
