Rue escapes from Laurie's to Alamo's place, and she gets some pills from Alamo to help her after she got hurt. Then, she takes the pills and she dies because there was fentanyl in them.

Why did Euphoria kill off Rue in the Euphoria finale?

Per creator Sam Levinson, to People:

"It just felt like the honest ending," he said. "The honest ending is that people like Rue don't make it."

"People relapse. They f--- up. They're not ready to get clean. And they weren't dying like they are now, with the influx of fentanyl into this country... I can say with absolute certainly that if I was going through what I went through when I was younger now, I wouldn't be here either. There's no reason to sugarcoat it."
