Este Haim praised her sister Alana's "wild" performance in The Drama
Alana played Rachel, bride Emma Harwood's maid of honor, who was branded the "secret villain" of the film
"I mean, we know that Alana is an amazing actress because she's not that b----y in real life," Este said of her youngest sister
Este Haim is giving a shoutout to her sister, Alana, for her performance in The Drama.
The eldest of the Haim sisters reflected on the "wild" experience of seeing her youngest sister, Alana, step into The Drama in a role completely opposite her personality. In the film, which hit theaters in April, Alana portrayed Rachel, the abrasive maid of honor to Emma Harwood (played by Zendaya).
As part of Tribeca Film Festival's Storytellers discussion on June 13 with Will Gluck, Este explained why seeing her sister in such a mean role was so jarring.

"Alana in The Drama ... I mean, we know that Alana is an amazing actress because she's not that b----y in real life," Este said, drawing laughter from the crowd. "She's like the sweetest person of all time, and she's a f---ing b---- in that movie."
"It was really wild for us all," she continued. "I mean, even my dad when he saw it ... he was like, 'Whoa, Alana, really?'"

Alana's character, Rachel, proved especially controversial upon the film's debut. Vulturelater dubbed Rachel as the "secret villain" of the film, for her hypocrisy and passive aggression towards the bride following their fateful conversation about the worst thing they'd ever done.
The Drama follows fiancés Emma and Charlie (Robert Pattinson), who are "put to the test when an unexpected revelation sends their wedding week off the rails," per an official synopsis for the film.

Este also praised Alana — who previously featured in One Battle After Another — for her musical prowess, which is crucial to her, Este and their sister Danielle's shared band, Haim.
"Alana is an insane savant when it comes to melody and lyrics," Este said, adding that Danielle is "amazing" at producing. "I mean, where one of us is kind of faltering, another one just completely excels. And that's what makes Haim work so great."
