Flavor Flav brought a taste of chaos to the *Dancing With the Stars* ballroom on Tuesday.

The legendary Public Enemy rapper and dating show debutante served as the guest judge on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Night, in which the eight remaining couples hit the floor with head-banging routines set to a litany of iconic anthems.

From his very first critique, Flav shifted the unpredictability meter to the max. After fumbling around under the judges' table to find his scoring paddle, Flav flashed a 10 for Dylan Efron, while his long-serving counterparts assigned the content creator an 8 and a pair of 9s. Co-host Alfonso Ribeiro joked that it was going to be "crazy in the ballroom tonight" — little did he know how right he'd be.

Flav then bucked expectations for the next two dances.

First up, influencer Alix Earle, who burned up the ballroom with the first of the night's three paso dobles, all danced by the season's leading couples. Her hair-flipping metal moves to Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" seemed poised to receive the season's first perfect score, and it seemed that way, as Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli all held up 10s. Flav, however, held up a 9 after struggling again to secure the proper paddle.

"39 out of 40 for Alix and Val so far," cohost Julianne Hough noted. "Interesting!"

During his critique of Earle, Flav explained, "Yo, check this out: Honestly, I was watching your moves, you know what I'm saying. You know what I'm saying? I, the unison, you know what I'm saying? The timing was great. Y'all were so good," he began to say, before he was cut off by the music.

Then came comedian Andy Richter, who has been struggling all season at the bottom of the competition despite being a fan favorite. Following a touching contemporary routine to "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys, Inaba and Hough handed Richter his flowers, with the former judge describing his dance as "the most heartwarming thing."

Still, Tonioli managed to sum up the judges' continued reservations about Richter by noting, "You do what you can."

But when the time came for the judges' scores, Inaba, Hough, and Tonioli handed Richter the score they've pretty much decided he's going to get for the remainder of the competition: 7s. But Flav held up a 9 that shocked the ballroom, and gave Richter his highest score of the season so far.

With Flav throwing his wild cards across the competition tonight, it's anyone's guess who comes out on top.

*Dancing With the Stars* airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu.**
