French preliminary inflation at 2% in June, below estimates

June 30 (Reuters) - French consumer prices rose less than expected in June, preliminary data from statistics agency INSEE showed on Tuesday.

France's harmonized inflation rate, adjusted for comparison with other euro zone countries, was 2% year-on-year in June.

A Reuters poll of 17 analysts had on average expected a rate of 2.3%, with estimates ranging from 2.2% to 2.8%.
