Fans of late singer George Michael are not happy after learning about his team's latest release, with a reissue of his debut album, Faith, announced last week.

The official Instagram account shared a video revealing the news, with the message saying, "We're delighted to announce that George's iconic debut solo album 'Faith' is finally back on vinyl for the first time in over a decade!"

Faith's reissue will be in several formats, including regular black vinyl, red and black marble vinyl, picture disk, audio Blu-ray, and CD. It's currently available for preorder and will be out on Feb. 20, 2026.

There has been renewed interest in Michael's debut album ever since Taylor Swiftreferenced his hit song "Father Figure" on her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

While a reissue after more than 10 years was exciting for some fans of Michael, longtime followers of his music were a bit underwhelmed by the reveal, as many were hoping to get something new.

Fans Were Hoping for a Live Album or Unreleased Music

"Was hoping for a live DVD. Maybe next Christmas," wrote one fan, while similar comments read, "Oh wow..More reissues of stuff we’ve all got multiple times over already..!" and "Thanks but I’ll stick to my old two copies of vinyl. They’ve got the same songs as the new ones."

"More Faith (Old) stuff 😢 I’m soooo disappointed but not surprised!" declared one particularly upset fan, as others also noted their disappointment.

Many people complained about multiple reissues over anything new from Michael's team, writing, "Really? Nothing new? Disappointing," and "Reissue after reissue, more and more coloured vinyls. When will it end? Give us something worth while for ONCE."

"I’m glad this is out, but can somebody finish off the songs that are in the catalog? We all know his fans. There are many many more songs," said someone else, with a different fan reacted, "I have no words. Just 'Yawn.'"

Meanwhile, there were plenty of excited fans mixed in, especially those who recently got into Michael and didn't have a chance to get Faith on vinyl when it first came out or during subsequent reissues.

One hyped up fan cheered, "About damn time!!! Thank you to George's estate and Sony Music!!! Been waiting a long time for this!!!"

Another happy fan said, "Thank you!!!! As a more recent collector of vinyl I am thrilled to add this to my collection!" More called the announcement "fantastic," "epic," and "iconic."

Maybe Michael's team will see the comments and take the fans' opinions into consideration when putting together the next music release.

Michael’s Band Wham! Is Taking Over the Charts

While Michael's estate was announcing the reissue of Faith, a hit song from Michael's band Wham!, which included him and Andrew Ridgeley, has officially taken over the music charts.

The duo's 1984 Christmas track, "Last Christmas," started to rise up the charts again due to the holiday season hype, and it recently took the top spot on the Billboard Global 200, even topping Mariah Carey's “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
