It's been almost 20 years since Jessica Alba donned the blue and black to portray the matriarch of Marvel's first family, Sue Storm, but she recently reflected on her time as the Invisible Woman, admitting that she disliked one of her scenes in particular.
During an appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival on Friday, Alba revealed that her "least favorite scene" in 2005's Fantastic Four was the movie's "awful" bridge moment in which Sue must strip down in order to fully disappear from a group of onlookers.
"I thought that was awful," Alba told attendees, per Variety. "It was very humiliating in real life. I grew up with a pretty conservative family, and I am a pretty modest person. I dreaded that scene for weeks. I have a lot of whiplash from those days."

But the actress stressed that the scene didn't totally sully her experience playing Sue Storm. "She was a woman I looked up to," she said, explaining that she "loved" how the character broke gender stereotypes perpetuated in superhero and action films at the time. "She was very maternal and very kind, but also not a pushover; she spoke her mind. She had a great moral compass. No matter who you are, you can look up to her."
"Oftentimes, the women in these stories need to be saved by a guy or the villain, the problem in the story," Alba added. "This was back then. It's different now."

Although Fantastic Four and 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer received mixed reviews, the flicks were box office successes and proved pivotal in the modern wave of superhero cinema, paving the way for the Marvel behemoth we know today.
Along with Alba, the two movies starred Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards, a.k.a Mister Fantastic, the elastic leader of the titular team; Chris Evans as the fiery Johnny Storm, a.k.a. the Human Torch; and Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm, a.k.a The Thing.
Alba hung up her superhero attire after Rise of the Silver Surfer and recently passed the torch to Vanessa Kirby, who starred as Sue Storm in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new take on the First Family.
Kirby took on the role for The Fantastic Four: First Steps alongside Pedro Pascal, who played her husband, Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, as well as Joseph Quinn, who played Johnny Storm/the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who played Ben Grimm/The Thing.

When Alba was asked whether she has watched Kirby's interpretation of Sue, the actress admitted that she hasn't been able to yet because of her children's film preferences.
"I usually watch those movies with my kids, and if Sonic was out, my son wants to watch it 85 times in a row," the mother of three said. "When it comes to movies that are for the family, my kids dominate what we watch for sure. But I have to convince him, because we have to see it! I love Marvel, and they're so fun."
