- Chappell Roan has denied that the security guard who brought an 11-year-old fan to tears was part of her personal detail.

- The mother of the young fan — Catherine Harding, who shares daughter Ada with her ex Jude Law — has shared her side of the story in an Instagram video.

- Harding claims that Roan is still responsible, saying the security guard was acting on her behalf.

Catherine Harding isn't buying Chappell Roan's claim that she had nothing to do with a security guard bringing the Irish singer's 11-year-old daughter to tears.

The incident — previously recounted by Harding's husband and professional soccer player Jorginho Frello — occurred over the weekend, when Harding and her daughter Ada Law discovered they were staying in the same São Paulo hotel as Roan. The mother-daughter duo were in the city for Lollapalooza, the music festival that Roan was headlining, and had tickets for her Saturday night show. However, Harding, who also goes by Cat Cavelli, says the experience was derailed when, at breakfast, a security guard came by to "berate" Ada for "harassing" the "Hot to Go" singer in the hotel restaurant.

In a video shared on Instagram on Sunday, Harding clarified that her daughter, whom she shares with ex Jude Law, did not approach Roan or speak to her but merely walked past her table at breakfast to confirm whether or not it was her.

"She literally didn’t do anything; she just looked at her and smiled," Harding insisted. "She came back, and she actually said to me, 'Mum, I don’t know if it’s her.' Because obviously with her costumes and everything, she looks a little bit different… That's it, we continued our breakfast."

Harding claimed that this did not stop a large and "intimidating" security guard from speaking to them in an "aggressive tone" to "berate and scold" them while they were eating.

In his own post, Jorghino wrote that their daughter was "extremely shaken and cried a lot" after the confrontation.

Roan has denied that the guard was a member of her personal security team and claimed in a Saturday video that she didn't even notice the mother or daughter during her stay. But Harding argued that Roan still bears responsibility for the situation.

"I know that Chappell has responded saying that it wasn't her security and she didn't do it," Harding said. "100% this security guard was not a security guard of the hotel, that's what I can say. He looks after artists. So I don't know if it was her personal security guard, but he was with her. That is all I know."

She added, "Did she send him to do it? Again, I don't know. I would like to hope not but at the same time I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure that the people who work for you and act on your behalf *are* acting on your behalf. So would he do that if he didn't have her authority to do so? I don't know."

At another point, Harding said, "Even if she did send him or she didn’t send him, I don’t know, for me it felt like it really overstepped a boundary."

The Irish singer additionally revealed that the trip to São Paulo was a birthday present for her daughter that was "ruined" after the hotel interaction, leading them to skip Roan's performance at Lollapalooza.

"I hope that she did not know and I hope that she did not send her security over to do this," Harding concluded. "I really think that she's a very very talented artist… I hope that if it wasn't her then she learns not to allow the people that work for her to not treat people like this."

Representatives for Roan did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment.

The singer previously shared videos on her Instagram Stories, agreeing that Ada was not treated fairly by the security guard, while noting that she was unaware of the interaction at the time.

"I didn't even see a woman and a child. No one came up to me. No one bothered me. I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel," Ron told viewers. "I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child. They did not come up to me — they weren't doing anything!"

She added, "I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children — that is crazy. I'm sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming that you would do something, and if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that."

Since her meteoric rise to fame in 2023, Roan has been notably outspoken about the struggles of life in the public eye and very firm about having boundaries with her fanbase. This has included calling out aggressive red carpet photographers and even criticizing "creepy" fans who get too close to her or too intense in requesting photos.

Most recently, the singer went viral for confronting paparazzi and autograph seekers who followed her to a Paris restaurant, asking them to "please leave me alone and stop following me and harassing me."
