Lauren Bennett’s dad opened up about the loss of his daughter and why he believes medical professionals “failed” to treat her “appropriately” before her death in late May.

The singer died at the end of May at the age of 36.

“As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her,” Richard Bennett wrote in a social media post on Tuesday.

Lauren Bennett’s dad, Richard Bennett, is opening up after the death of his daughter in late May.

On Tuesday, Richard took to social media to pay tribute to the late singer, best known for providing vocals on LMFAO’s hit “Party Rock Anthem.”

“It is with a broken heart that I share the loss of my beautiful and talented daughter, Lauren Bennett, the love of my life and my pride and joy,” the grieving father began the caption of his post. “Lauren was an incredible person and artist: creative, talented, funny, and as humble as she was beautiful. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and made a lasting impact on countless lives through her music, her kindness, and the way she made people feel.”

He continued, recalling that it was clear Lauren had “a very special gift” from an early age. ”She began performing professionally at just 12 years old, and watching her grow into the artist she became was one of the greatest joys of my life. Her achievements in the music industry were beyond our wildest dreams and continue to make me so proud,” Richard wrote.

Richard took the opportunity to share more about Lauren’s medical issues prior to her death, revealing that months before, she “experienced a severe reaction to a prescribed medication.”

“As a family, we all rallied around her and did everything we could to support her,” he continued. “We have no suspicions regarding the circumstances of her death, only deep disappointment that, for five months, medical professionals and NHS services failed to treat her appropriately during her time of greatest need.”

Despite said disappointment, Richard went on to write: “Lauren was deeply loved and will be missed every day for the rest of our lives. I hope she will be remembered for her remarkable achievements, her beautiful music, and the incredible person she was. Her legacy lives on through her daughter, her family, and through the music she leaves behind.”

“As we navigate this unimaginable loss, we kindly ask for privacy and respect as our family grieves,” the dedication post concluded. “We are deeply grateful for the love, support, and kindness shown by friends, fans, and everyone else who has reached during this incredibly difficult time.”

Richard’s post was shared the same day it was reported that Lauren’s death is being investigated by the Kent and Medway Coroner Service in England.

Lauren performed alongside the other members of G.R.L. from 2013 to 2015. The group released “Lighthouse,” a single in her honor, before disbanding the following year.

Outside of G.R.L., Lauren is best known for her work as a featured artist on tracks from will.i.am and CeeLo Green. In 2011, she joined the Party Rock Tour with LMFAO and was featured on the group’s international hit, “Party Rock Anthem.” The song peaked at No. 1 in 20 countries and became the third best-selling digital song in U.S. history. The music video, which featured Lauren, garnered over 2.5 billion views.

More recently, she released the songs “Reality” and “Hurricane” on her own and also reunited with fellow G.R.L. alums for various projects over the years.
