Marvel’s Wolverine Trailer Sees Iconic X-Men Hero Fighting Sabretooth, Sentinels, & More

Insomniac Games and PlayStation have released a new Marvel’s Wolverine trailer. It teases the hero’s journey in a new universe. The upcoming title follows Insomniac’s three Spider-Man games and is set in the same universe. First announced in 2021, Insomniac revealed its gameplay earlier this year, with the new story trailer debuting at San Diego Comic-Con.

What do we see in the trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine game?
The trailer opens with Logan or Wolverine meeting Jean Grey while being controlled by an unknown entity. The hero, wearing his classic yellow X-Men costume, rescues an undisclosed character before getting attacked by various mercenaries. The story trailer establishes that Wolverine and Jean Grey were romantically involved in this universe. It also introduces Team X, formed by the titular hero, Sabretooth, and Mystique, with no official X-Men team existing yet.
The second half of the action-packed footage teases some of the game’s set pieces and villains. This includes a chase sequence in Japan, and Wolverine battling Lady Deathstrike, Omega Red, the Hand, and even a Sentinel. One scene also shows Wolverine in his Patch getup, similar to how Hugh Jackman appeared during an early montage in Deadpool & Wolverine. It also establishes that one of the major villains will be Bolivar Trask.

The blood-soaked trailer reinforces that Wolverine will be a more mature adventure compared to Spider-Man. Marvel Games also revealed that David Fleming will be composing the upcoming game. Fleming previously composed music for 2026’s Widow’s Bay, last year’s Superman, The Last of Us TV series, and more.
Fans can also read the official Marvel’s Wolverine prequel comic to learn about Logan’s history for free on Marvel Unlimited. The game is available to pre-order now on physical and digital retailers.
Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
