It turns out Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour have a bit more in common than knowing the significance of cerulean blue – they also share a bloodline.
The Oscar-winning actress and former Vogue editor-in-chief are related, according to an analysis of family trees and public records done by DNA testing company Ancestry.
Streep and Wintour are sixth cousins – they share the same fifth-great grandparents, the analysis found.
The two have been famously associated since Streep's portrayal of rigid fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly in the 2006 film "The Devil Wears Prada."
Although Priestly is a fictional character, she is widely believed to have been inspired by Wintour. "The Devil Wears Prada 2" is set to be released May 1.

How are Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour related?
Anna Wintour and Meryl Streep are distant cousins, an Ancestry analysis found.
According to Ancestry, Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour are sixth cousins.
They share fifth great-grandparents named Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Kinsey. The couple lived in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the 18th century, per Ancestry.

Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour's shared bloodline goes back to their fifth great-grandparents.
Streep and Wintour were both born in 1949, though the actress was raised in New Jersey while the fashion legend grew up in England.
Their shared Pennsylvania ties appear to go back just two generations.
Wintour's maternal grandmother, Anna Gilkyson Baker, after whom she is named, was from Pennsylvania, according to the biography "Front Row: Anna Wintour" by Jerry Oppenheimer.
On Streep's side, her maternal grandfather, Harry Rockafellow Wilkinson, was also from Pennsylvania, according to Ancestry records.
Coincidentally, Lauren Weisberger, the author of the 2003 book that was adapted into "The Devil Wears Prada," is also a Pennsylvania native. According to Weisberger's website, she grew up in Allentown, just 20 miles from where Streep and Wintour's shared relatives lived.
