Meryl Streep has a confession to make.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 star revealed one of her favorite pastimes on the Thursday, April 30, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! â and itâs giving Miranda Priestly.
Earlier on Thursday, Streep, 76, honored costar Stanley Tucci with a speech at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and joked about their shared love of complaining.
Asked about her comments by host Jimmy Kimmel, Streep elaborated, âI referred to myself as the worldâs greatest whiner. But thatâs what Stanley and I bond on, because we both complain because we basically have nothing to complain about, letâs face it.â

âBut we do enjoy bitching about things, you know, everything,â the Oscar winner added. âDoesnât everybody like to do that? Itâs my hobby.â
Tucci, 65, and sister-in-law Emily Blunt were honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday ahead of the release of The Devil Wears Prada 2 on Friday, May 1.
Streep paid tribute to Tucciâs great acting and culinary talent during a speech at the ceremony but said that Tucci is particularly gifted at kicking up a fuss.

âYour elegance and delight in just being alive is evident when youâre shaking a cocktail or rustling up dinner, but especially when youâre complaining,â the actress quipped. âA special relish ⊠Stanley can really muster up a mighty grievance!â

Streep continued that Tucci rivals âthe great Nora Ephron, also right up there â and me,â describing herself as the âworldâs biggest whiner, which Disney can attest to.â
The actress heaped praise on Tucci, with whom she has costarred in The Devil Wears Prada franchise and 2009âs Julie & Julia, directed by Ephron.
âItâs impossible not to love Stanley Tucci â urbane, sly, funny, bitchy and generous and curious and so elegant,â she said.
âStanley has an elegance to his heterosexuality â his undeniable heterosexuality â which is formidable,â Streep went on. âNot that heterosexuality is better than any other kind of sexuality. Itâs just that elegance â real, unforced, natural, unstyled elegance â is sometimes harder for straight men.â
âIâve known you longer as a friend than as a scene partner,â she added. âAnd weâve been through some rough times together and some great times, and I love you deeply.â
âIâve adored working with Stanley, and Iâve done it often, and Iâm ready to go again,â Streep said, teasing another movie together.
Streep and Tucci reprise their roles as fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly and her trusted sidekick, Nigel Kipling, in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Anne Hathaway and Blunt also reprise their roles from the 2006 original film.
