After an emotionally-charged season involving murder, corruption and setups, “The Lincoln Lawyer” is finally returning to Netflix.
Season 4 of the show will consist of 10 episodes and premiere on Thursday, Feb. 5, Netflix confirmed.
The show is based on the series of novels by California and Florida-based author Michael Connelly. Starring Manuel Garcia Rulfo, the series follows the career of defense attorney Mickey Haller, known for his success rate in the courtroom and the prized Lincolns he drives.
The current season is based on the sixth book in series, “The Law of Innocence,” as defense attorney Haller and his team try to prove his innocence in connection to the death of his former client, Sam Scales.

Season 4 of “The Lincoln Lawyer” premieres on Netflix at 12 a.m. PST/3 a.m. EST. All episodes will drop at the same time, Netflix confirmed to USA TODAY on Jan. 26.
All seasons of "The Lincoln Lawyer" are only available to stream on Netflix, the company said.

Season 4 picks up after a series of deaths in Season 3, some considered homicide and others self inflicted. During the Season 3 finale, DA Haller questioned private investigator Neil Bishop, who admitted he was blackmailed into working for Drug Enforcement Administration agent James De Marco.
While working for De Marco, Bishop trailed a sex worker named Gloria, who later died. While taking the stand, Bishop admitted he was suspicious of De Marco, who was blackmailing him, and asked him if he killed the woman. While De Marco denied killing her, Bishop didn’t believe him.
Just after DA Haller said he was done questioning Bishop, the private investigator cried on the stand, pulled out a gun, and died by suicide.
“Tell my son I’m sorry,” Bishop said during the scene.
Also during the Season 3 finale, police pulled over DA Haller as he drove his blue Lincoln Continental, claiming his license plate was missing. The officer noticed a blood-like substance leaking out of the trunk, and inside, found the body of Haller’s former client Sam Scales.

According to Netflix, Season 4 of “The Lincoln Lawyer” will be based on the 2020 novel “The Law Of Innocence,” the sixth book in the series.
“The biggest cliff-hanger of all is ‘What is going to happen to Mickey?’ and that one certainly plays out across the whole season in the form of his trial,” co-executive producer and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey told Tudum, Netflix’s editorial site.
“All the advice he’s given clients over the years, now he has to give himself,” Humphrey added. “And he realizes how hollow some of it sounds when you’re the one it’s bouncing off of.”

The show's Season 4 trailer teases viewers with a glimpse into the defense attorney's psyche as he tries to prove his own innocence and defend himself while imprisoned.
