Post Malone has pushed back the first few weeks of “Big A** Stadium” shows with Jelly Roll. Post Malone announced on social media on Friday night that he was cancelling the first few weeks of his stadium tour with Jelly Roll. He revealed he wants to finish working on his new album before commencing the tour.

Post Malone pauses his “Big A** Stadium Tour Part 2” to finish work on his forthcoming album. This cancellation affects the first six pre-scheduled shows of the tour. These comprised almost one-third of the North American dates. The tour was supposed to start on May 13 at El Paso Sun Bowl Stadium. The other shows were scheduled to take place in Waco, Baton Rouge, Birmingham, Tampa, and Oxford. However, they now stand cancelled.

The three festival performances will still take place. However, Post Malone and Jelly Roll will now commence their tour on June 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is almost a month later than the original start date of the tour (via Variety).

Previously, there were reports that tickets were not selling as expected. There were speculations that this was the reason for pushing back the tour. However, the “Sunflower” creator insists that he wants to work on his new album.

The 30-year-old singer wrote, “Looking at the upcoming schedule after Stagecoach, I came to the realization that what we’re trying to do, and what’s possible, isn’t really lining up. The truth is, I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before the tour starts. We ain’t ready for tour just yet, so I’m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done.”

Post Malone continued, “That being said, I’m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few cancelled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all. That THAT being said, we been making some badass shit for this double album… and I can’t wait to perform for y’all again.”
