The Los Angeles Rams continue to suffer devastating injury losses beyond having a disappointing 2-4 record. For the first time this year, one of their starters has been declared out for the remainder of the season.

Sean McVay told reporters on Monday that nose tackle Poona Ford, who is the key to their run defense, will not play another snap in 2026. He will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his triceps in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Ford played 25 out of 72 defensive snaps on Sunday before he ruptured his triceps. Recording three total tackles, Ford often eliminates double teams and was the critical factor behind the team's massive improvement in run defense from 2024 to 2025.

After signing a three-year deal last offseason, Ford was already looking like a potential cut candidate in 2027. According to Over the Cap, the Rams could save over $9 million next season if they part ways with Ford. However, his absence could be the factor that proves his worth, as the team will be asked to toe the line, even with an already unsteady front seven.

Ford has 15 total tackles and 2.5 stuffs this season.
