Ryan Gosling had a heartwarming response to his "OG acting inspiration" Deidre Hall's invitation to visit the *Days of Our Lives* set.
Hall had extended the invite to the *Project Hail Mary *star after hearing him gush about her and the soap opera on the *Happy Sad Confused** *podcast last week. She had asked Gosling to "come over and see what we do in our neck of the woods" in a video message.

"Deidre Hall, are you kidding me?" Gosling responded in a video on his new film *Project Hail Mary*'s Instagram page. "Yes. This is a very enthusiastic yes to a very cordial invitation to visit you on set. I will be there to thank you in person for being my OG acting inspiration. It wasn't Marlon Brando in *On the Waterfront. *It wasn't [Robert] De Niro in *Taxi Driver.* It was you."
Gosling had told *Happy Sad Confused* host Josh Horowitz that he was a loyal *Days of Our Lives* viewer in the 1990s and was wowed by Hall's acting after her character, Marlena Evans, gets possessed by a demon. The *Barbie* actor said he recently turned the show on again and found her in another possession.
The *Drive *star told Horowitz that soap opera actors "do not get the love they deserve" for learning pages of dialogue on the fly and playing out "impossible scenarios."
Gosling thanked Hall for the offer to visit *Days of Our Lives*, saying he'd come "any time, anywhere" for her.
"I'm not worried about the possession, I'll say a Hail Mary before I get there," he joked. "It'll be fine and I'll see you on set."
While Gosling is a bit busy promoting his new sci-fi film *Project Hail Mary*, Hall had said her offer was an "open invitation." Hopefully, this crossover happens sooner rather than later. Plus, the soap actress promised that "nobody will be possessed" when Gosling visits.
"And if they are, I'll keep an eye on you," she said.

Hall has portrayed psychiatrist Marlena Evans on *Days of Our Lives* since 1976. She said she shared the podcast interview between Gosling and Horowitz with the rest of the cast and crew of the long-running soap opera.
"We played it in the dressing room, and we played it in the makeup room, and we're just thrilled to be acknowledged and to be so well spoken of," she said. "Because we work really hard, as you acknowledged."
