Will Ferrell and his wife Viveca Paulin celebrated 26 years of marriage on Aug. 12, 2026
They share three sons: Magnus, Mattias and Axel
The couple have attended many events together over the years, from movie premieres to art galas
Will Ferrell and his wife, Viveca Paulin, are celebrating 26 years of marriage.
The couple wed on Aug. 12, 2000, after they first met in an acting class in 1991. In the following years, Ferrell and Paulin went on welcome three sons: Magnus in 2004, Mattias in 2006 and Axel in 2010.
“I think we were drawn to each other initially through our shared sense of humor, and that has remained the foundation of our relationship,” Ferrell told PEOPLE in November 2024. “I think, ultimately, that’s our bond, making each other laugh.”
Over the decades, they have continued to look toward each other through the different chapters of their life together. “It’s always great to have this partner in crime that you can kind of step away from the fray and just share a thought and share a moment with,” he added.

In October 1998, Ferrell took Paulin to the premiere of his comedy A Night at the Roxbury in New York City, where they walked the red carpet in sleek, black ensembles.
