Although Justin Verlander has hung up his baseball bat, he’ll always be a champion to wife Kate Upton and their two daughters.

The athlete, who recently retired from professional baseball, married the supermodel in 2017, five years after they met on the set of a commercial for the video game Major League Baseball 2K12. They welcomed daughter Genevieve in November 2018 and another, Bellamy, in June 2025.

In 2019, Verlander opened up to PEOPLE about how Genevieve’s birth influenced his career plans.

“I would like to be able to play long enough that my daughter can see me and remember me playing baseball when she grows older,” he explained. “Maybe if anything, it’s going to push me to stay in shape and stay healthy, and be a good pitcher as long as I possibly can. I want her to be able to remember me on the field.”

Ahead, see Upton and Verlander’s most adorable family photos with Genevieve and Bellamy over the years.
