It's a family affair on Matlock.
PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at Skye P. Marshall and her real-life husband Edwin Hodge joining forces for an upcoming episode from Matlock's second season, airing April 2.
In the episode, titled "The Cavalry Isn't Coming," Hodge plays a man named Langston Wright, who meets Marshall's Olympia Lawrence via a hallway encounter thanks to some family ties.
The clip features the pair shaking hands in their first meeting as Olympia's leg shakes. While she heads off to dinner and they go their separate ways, Olympia sneaks a quick look back at Langston as orchestral music plays.

A logline for the episode reads: "The stakes are high when Matty represents one of Jacobson Moore’s own on trial amidst her and Edwin’s 50th wedding anniversary. Meanwhile, Olympia and Julian track down a scientist from the Wellbrexa lab."
This won't be the first time Hodge, 41, and Marshall, 44, have acted on screen together. The pair met in 2020 while auditioning for and scoring lead roles in the CBS medical series Good Sam, which aired in 2022. Marshall later boarded the Matlock reboot, which premiered in 2024. She returned for season 2 in October.

Hodge previously told PEOPLE that the pair transformed their "on-set romance into a real love story" after they sparked "a strong bond and affection" for each other when production for Good Sam officially kicked off.
Hodge, who also starred as Special Agent Ray Cannon in FBI: Most Wanted, married Marshall in June 2024 in Los Angeles. They were surrounded by 122 loved ones, including stars Kathy Bates, Craig Robinson, Sophia Bush, Ashlyn Harris, Jason Ritter, Melanie Lynskey, Gina Rodriguez and more.
"He inspires me to gain hobbies that continuously activate new and creative ways for me to express myself," Marshall told PEOPLE of her husband at the time.
"Traveling and immersing ourselves in different cultures has been a shared passion since we first met," she added. "Ultimately, we’re excited about our mutual growth, deepening love and expanding appreciation for each other and life."
In December, Hodge celebrated Marshall on Instagram after she won her first Critics Choice Celebration of Black Cinema and Television Award. "It was a night surrounded by Black excellence while celebrating my baby’s excellence," he wrote. "She deserves this award, not only for what she brings to her character, Olympia, but also what she does behind the scenes! The little things most don’t get to see. A true leader and lover of the arts, I can’t wait to see what’s next for her!"
Matlock airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
