WWE‘s Seth Rollins reveals the one fact about former SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis that shocked him.
Ahead of WWE SummerSlam this weekend, Seth Rollins appeared on the Busted Open Podcast to promote the event. During the conversation, host Bully Ray asked him, besides his match, what other contest has him emotionally invested in as a fan.
Seth Rollins replied that he’s looking forward to seeing Nick Aldis compete in his first WWE match against GUNTHER at SummerSlam. Since Aldis hasn’t competed in a wrestling match since October 2023, Rollins is interested to see if the SmackDown General Manager still has energy left in the tank.
“I think anytime anybody’s coming off of a long hiatus and has never really laced up the boots inside a WWE ring, there’s a ton of intrigue. So actually, the GUNTHER-Aldis match is one that has my attention. The other ones, you know what you’re gonna get. I don’t mean that in a bad way,” Seth Rollins began.

Speaking further, Seth Rollins mentioned that fans have an idea of what most matches at SummerSlam will be like. However, since Nick Aldis is returning to the ring after a long hiatus, it creates a natural intrigue.
“You know the Hell in a Cell’s gonna be a war. You know what you’re gonna get with Punk and Cody. You’ve seen them at their peak. I think there’s the mystery of what does Nick Aldis have in the tank. I mean, you know what it’s like to have a long layoff, not being in the ring, not being in practice. That’s a difficult uphill battle physically and mentally,” Rollins continued.

Seth Rollins, who’s 40, then revealed he was shocked to learn that Nick Aldis, 39, is actually younger than him.
“Now we see Aldis in the shirt every week on Friday. He looks fantastic. He looks full, the chest; he looks great, and he’s not even 40 years old. He’s still younger than I am, actually, which shocked me. I didn’t know that. But let’s see what he’s got. It’s really his WWE debut, and it’s on a massive stage, so I’m really looking forward to seeing that,” Rollins concluded.
WWE announced the official card for both nights of SummerSlam earlier today. Seth Rollins will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, and their clash will main event night two. GUNTHER vs. Nick Aldis is on night one.
