Smallville star Allison Mack is finally ready to tell her story.
The actress spent two years in federal prison for racketeering charges following her involvement in the NXIVM cult. Mack’s involvement in the cult, run by Keith Raniere—currently serving a 120-year prison sentence—was documented in the HBO documentary The Vow, which ran for two seasons. The former Smallville star was released from jail after serving two years in prison in July 2023. Now, the 43-year-old is launching a new podcast to tell her story.

Canadian Broadcasting Company’s Uncover: Allison After NXIVM will detail the actress’ life before and after NXIVM while also revealing her life during her time in the cult. The podcast will include interviews with those who knew the former TV star and will ask hard-hitting questions of Mack herself, who was accused of recruiting women to be part of a sex cult. The podcast also promises to explore Mack’s life after jail.
According to a CBC press release, Mack will dive “deep into the gray zones of influence, accountability and redemption."
The podcast will launch Nov. 10.
Why Did Allison Mack Go to Prison?
Mack went to prison, serving two years of her three-year sentence, for her role in the NXIVM (pronounced “Nex-ee-um”) sex trafficking case. The organization was a self-help group founded by Raniere, promising alternative ways to find happiness. It was later exposed as a cult that exploited women and used members like Mack to enlist others.
The actress was accused of recruiting women into a secret subgroup within NXIVM called DOS, where some members were branded with Raniere’s initials and many were forced to give “collateral,” such as damaging personal information or photos, to ensure their silence.
In 2019, Mack pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering and racketeering conspiracy.
Since being released from prison, Mack has largely stayed out of the public eye. The release of Uncover: Allison After NXIVM marks the first time the actress has spoken publicly about her fall from fame.
