June 15 (Reuters) - The U.S. Department of ‌Justice's Associate Attorney ‌General Stanley Woodward has been ​put in charge of the department's antitrust division, regulatory news ‌website ⁠MLex reported on Monday.

Omeed Assefi, the ⁠acting head of the antitrust division, ​is set ​to ​leave the department, an ‌MLex reporter said in a post on X.

U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche last week ‌signed off ​on a ​memo ​allowing Woodward ‌to exercise the authority ​of ​the assistant attorney general for the ​antitrust ‌division, the report added.
