It's not all sunshine and roses being a nepo baby — just ask Stellan Skarsgård's youngest child.

The topic of nepotism came up in a new interview with Skarsgård in Vulture, when the outlet pointed out that many of his eight children — including Bill, Alexander, and Gustaf — have become actors like their father. When asked if he, therefore, considers them "nepo babies," he replied, "No. I consider myself a nepo daddy because I get so much goodwill and maybe jobs because of them."

Skarsgård, currently promoting awards season hopeful *Sentimental Value*, was then asked if he felt he's gotten any specific jobs in Hollywood as a result of being a self-professed "nepo daddy."**

"I don’t know," he told the outlet. "I know that they haven’t recommended me for anything, because I didn’t recommend them for anything. But my 13-year-old, Kolbjörn, the youngest, suffers from that." (Kolbjörn currently stars in Swedish horror series *Blood Cruise*.)

The *Mamma Mia* star continued, "When his pals at school call him nepo baby, he gets so sad. He doesn’t have any friends at school. He gets isolated. Cruel kids — or cruel and ignorant. They love it on the internet. But it is such a bulls--- thing. Because nobody would hire you, at least not for anything good, if you’re not good enough."

Nepo babies have been the talk of the town in Hollywood in recent years, with many including Meghan McCain, Allison Williams, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Lee Curtis, and more publicly sharing their thoughts on the fairness (or unfairness) of the label.

In 2022, for instance, Curtis, the daughter of stars Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, posted on Instagram that as the "OG Nepo Baby" she felt the whole conversation is meant to "denigrate and hurt."

"I have been a professional actress since I was 19 years old so that makes me an OG Nepo Baby,” Curtis wrote. “I’ve never understood, nor will I, what qualities got me hired that day, but since my first two lines on *Quincy* as a contract player at Universal Studios to this last spectacular creative year some 44 years later, there’s not a day in my professional life that goes by without my being reminded that I am the daughter of movie stars. The current conversation about nepo babies is just designed to try to diminish and denigrate and hurt.”

*Sentimental Value*, in which Skarsgård plays a once-legendary director who is seeking to reconnect with his daughters, one of whom is an actress, won the Grand Prix at this year's Cannes Film Festival. It has been selected as Norway's entry for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards.
