Many guests have commanded Stephen Colbert's attention from the *Late Show** *couch, but only a select few have left him at a loss for words.

As the comedian prepares to say farewell to his CBS program, Colbert is getting candid about a few details of his late-night tenure — including the "bombshell" guest who was so beautiful that he could barely get a word out.

While reuniting with fellow late-night hosts Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and John Oliver for an emergency episode of their *Strike Force Five* podcast, Colbert was asked if he ever had to interview a guest who "was so attractive" that he found it "distracting."

"I'll tell you who I did not expect to be wildly attracted to," Colbert began. "I didn't know what to do with myself. I like this person's work, but I never thought of them as like a bombshell."

He continued, "I could not— I didn't know what to do with my eyeballs when Michelle Williams was on for the first time."

"She sat down across from me and I went, 'Oh f---, what is wrong with my head? I better not look directly at her for this entire interview,'" Colbert recounted. "There was something about her vibe, her face, everything. She's so beautiful."

Williams, 45, first visited the* Late Show* to promote the Broadway show *Blackbird* in 2016. She has returned several times since, most recently sitting across from Colbert in April 2025 to promote her Golden Globe-winning FX series* Dying for Sex*. On that occasion, Colbert even recited some poetry in honor of the raunchy yet heartfelt series.

Williams isn't the only guest who has stopped Colbert in his tracks. The host went on to name-drop a few other stars, telling his fellow late-night hosts, "I used to have a Rachel Weisz problem. [But] I've recovered."

He explained, "When Rachel Weisz would be on *The Daily Show,* I would leave the building for fear that I would say something stupid to her. I was afraid I would stand in the hallway and be like, [*nervously*] 'You were great in *The Constant Gardner*.'"

Kimmel then asked Colbert if his wife Evelyn McGee Colbert has a celebrity crush or hall pass of her own, prompting the* Late Show* host to react with mock rage.

After some laughs from the other hosts, Colbert named the "attractive" Andrew Garfield. Kimmel then pointed out that Colbert famously locked lips with the actor on his show.

"Did he do it hanging upside down dressed as Spider-Man?" Kimmel quipped.

"No, but we did get our fingers tangled in each other's hair," Colbert replied.

Fallon then interjected, pointing out that he too shared a smooch with Colbert, in a *Late Show* episode filmed just hours before their podcast recording on Monday.

"Hey, we kissed tonight," he reminded Colbert, who replied, "I think I would've remembered that."
