*The View*'s revolving door of guest cohosts keeps multiplying — for better or worse — in Alyssa Farah Griffin's absence.
Monday's episode saw the panel welcome former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina to the Hot Topics table, over 10 years after former *View* cohost and comedian Michelle Collins courted controversy for calling the politician's face "demented" on the air in 2015.
"Well, hello, hello, hello, and welcome to *The View*, welcome to *The View*, welcome to *The View*, welcome to *The View*, welcome to*The View*, welcome to *The View*, welcome to *The View*, welcome to *The View*," moderator Whoopi Goldberg said at the top of the broadcast, repeating the introductory phrase eight times before turning her attention toward Fiorina.

The Hot Topics panel on the March 16 episode of 'The View'.
"Joining us as guest cohost this week, please welcome former Republican presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina," Goldberg said, before quickly segueing into her thoughts on Sunday's Oscars ceremony — and how watching *Sinners* actor Michael B. Jordan win Best Actor made the EGOT-winning actress cry.
Fiorina inadvertently made headlines in 2015, after Collins — who sat on* The View* panel from 2015-16 — called Fiorina "demented" over the way she smiled at the beginning of a presidential debate that year.
"Let's clear the air. We know you took issue with something that was said last week. What's happening, girl?" Goldberg said in a subsequent 2015 edition of *The View**, *which saw Fiorina join as an interviewee in the wake of the Collins scandal.

"In any event, I've been called all kinds of things. I've been called a bimbo from the time I was a secretary to the time I was a CEO," Fiorina told the cohosts at the time. "I think we need to be able to have civil conversations in this country about our differences, as well as about the things that unite us."
She later added, "Don’t worry, I have skin plenty thick enough to the take whatever people throw at me. I'm making a different point,” and, “The different point is this. I think that there are real issues in this nation that we ought to be able to discuss in a fact-based, civil fashion."

In a 2024 interview with **, Collins reflected on her time at *The View.*
"I have bitten my tongue about a lot of the things that went on there, I think partially due to light PTSD, and just also being raised in a family home where we took the high road. I find it ugly. Frankly, it took me a long time to kind of come to terms with the fact that it was, and still is, the biggest thing I've ever done, and allowed me the opportunity to gain fans," Collins said. "I can't spit where I came from. But, I'll add that it does frustrate me a hair that I have behaved so well and then this show has absolutely never invited me back, they have a podcast, they never asked me back."
When pressed for details, Collins said she referenced "light PTSD" from *The View *"for comedic effect."
*The View *airs weekdays on ABC.**
