Jon Gosselin was a household name in the early 2000s thanks to the TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8

Following his and Kate's divorce in 2009, Jon married Stephanie Lebo in 2025

Today, Jon is estranged from six of his eight children

Jon Gosselin became a household name when Jon & Kate Plus 8 premiered back in 2007.

The TLC reality series followed Jon and his then-wife Kate Gosselin as they raised their eight children: twins Cara and Mady, who were born in 2000, and sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah, who were born in 2004.

In 2009, both the show and the couple's marriage took a major turn when Kate filed for divorce. That same year, Jon & Kate Plus 8 ended and relaunched as Kate Plus 8, which continued without Jon until its final season aired in 2017.

Despite opting out of a reality TV career, Jon's name continued to make headlines in the years following his exit from the show thanks to a bitter custody battle between him and Kate.

Find out where the former reality TV star is now — and what his relationships are like with his children.

Though Kate was the first of the pair to file for divorce, she previously told PEOPLE that Jon was the one who ultimately wanted to end their marriage.

"Jon has been asking for this for a long time. He does not want to be married to me anymore," she said. "No questions asked, he went and hired a lawyer and said, 'You'd better get one.' So I did. I never would've made that step; I never would have done it. But I did, because he told me to do it."

Kate said that it wasn't one defining moment that ended their marriage, but a realization that, overall, their "goals [didn't] match up."

For his part, in a 2019 interview on The Dr. Oz Show, Jon said that his and Kate's marriage would've failed with or without the show, blaming his own "passive-aggressive" behavior and accusing Kate of having narcissistic personality disorder.

Jon married Stephanie Lebo on Nov. 23, 2025. The pair first met at a mutual friend's barbecue in August 2021 after Jon split from his longtime girlfriend Colleen Conrad.

Jon and Lebo, a former beautician and research analyst, went public with their relationship in 2023 via an interview with The Sun. They said they began dating after a friend tagged each of them in an Instagram post about the barbecue where they met. They promptly slid into each other's DMs.

They got engaged on Nov. 23, 2024, after Jon told PEOPLE that April that a proposal was in the works.

"She doesn't really want to be in the public eye, so she doesn't come to red carpet events and those kinds of things," he said, adding that Lebo was "the one."

When it came time for Jon and Lebo to say "I do," only two of the Gosselin kids attended their nuptials in Lancaster, Pa.

Hannah and Collin Gosselin were on hand to see their father walk down the aisle for the second time. Lebo's own daughter, Juliana, was also there to celebrate. The wedding reportedly had 180 guests, and Collin served as one of Jon's groomsmen.

Jon is estranged from six of his eight children, with only Hannah and Collin speaking to him regularly.

Collin and Hannah each lived with Jon, and theirs was the only high school graduation he attended. In a 2018 interview, he said that twins Mady and Cara, as well as the rest of the sextuplets (Leah, Aaden, Alexis and Joel) did not speak to him, but that they all remain close with Hannah.

“It’s what the kids want to do," he explained. "If they don’t want to talk to me, that’s fine, as long as they keep up with their sibling connections."

Jon added that the last time he saw all eight of his children at once, “It was just volatile and a lot going on. It was just not a good time.”

Five years later, Jon revealed that not much had changed between him and his estranged children.

"I have no access to the kids I'm estranged from," he said during an appearance on the Dark Sides of the 2000s podcast. "I have no idea why they stopped coming. I have no answers. Like, none. It's the worst."

He's considered a reality TV comeback

Jon has tried his hand at a number of careers since leaving reality TV, Philly Mag reported, including selling solar panels, returning to IT and working as a maître d' in a restaurant. He also had a very brief stint in an "R" rated male revue. These days, he makes his living as a celebrity DJ. He even dropped the single "Voicemail" with DJ Casper in 2022.

In April 2024, Jon told PEOPLE that he was open to returning to TV, especially for a show focused on his DJ career, but that he wouldn't involve his children or family in the project.

Jon also has a new focus on his health. After gaining weight from eating late night junk food after DJ gigs, he lost 50 lbs. on Ozempic in 2024.

Jon and Lebo live in Pennsylvania, where they're raising her daughter Juliana together.
