YouTuber Rosanna Pansino didn't quite have the birthday she had planned!

Pansino, who turned 41 on Monday, June 8, took to Instagram almost a week after her birthday to explain that she fell off a boat while it was docking, breaking her jaw and front teeth. She joked that she'll be celebrating her birthday at a spa instead next year.

"Whelp, my birthday didn't end quite as I had planned, but it's one I will never forget!" she wrote.

"After a beautiful day spent with friends out in the ocean, I unfortunately took a very bad fall as the boat was docking and broke my jaw into four pieces, including a complete fracture down the middle of my chin."

Pansino, known for her YouTube baking series Nerdy Nummies, told her followers that she spent the night in the emergency room, where she received stitches for three different facial wounds.

She added that she also had surgery to put a metal plate on her chin and stabilize her teeth, and had four metal screws drilled into her gums for the bands that have been helping hold her jaw in place.

The former Baketopia host also "shattered" her front teeth, explaining that she'll need "extensive" dental work to fix them.

Fortunately, her recovery has been going well. "The good news is the doctor just me at the latest checkup that I can talk sooner than expected," she said, adding that she expects to have at least eight more weeks of recovery ahead of her.

"I cannot thank all the medical staff who have helped me through all of this enough," Pansino added. "A big thanks to everyone who has sent flowers, visited me, kind words, and encouragement."

Her partner Mike Lamond commented that she was "somehow just as cute with a broken jaw," while her friend and collaborator Safiya Nygaard wrote, "Sending you love and healing vibes!! You got this."

Other friends and fellow YouTubers, including Joey Graceffa, Mr. Kate, Jeannie Mai, Jeri Ryan, Hila Klein and iJustine also shared their well-wishes.

Pansino added that she was "excited to get back on my feet soon" and continue making content for her YouTube channel and her Rodiculouspodcast, describing the past year as "challenging."

A year ago, she shared on Instagram that she had a benign growth removed from her collarbone after undergoing several scans and an inconclusive biopsy.

And earlier this year, the YouTuber called out comments about her weight in a post on X. "As many of you know, I suffer from severe PMDD [premenstrual dysphoric disorder]," Pansino wrote, explaining that she tried a treatment that didn't work but caused her to gain "25 pounds in under three months."

She added, "While gaining the weight wasn't intentional, I am learning to love my new curves while I focus on my health. Commenting on someone's weight, especially when you don't know what they're going through, is pointless and cruel."
